This position is a Remote role.

Job Purpose:

Our team works with our regional tax groups to build an accurate US GAAP income tax provision. We work to improve global processes to continually reduce the amount of time it takes to produce the provision and to provide better insight to our management team. Our team works with Avnet’s external auditors to coordinate the audit strategy and collect necessary evidence. A successful candidate will learn about technical income tax accounting rules, collaborate with our foreign teams who have local country tax law background and help develop strategy around execution of the provision workflow. The global provision team works with multiple finance groups and other stakeholders to support and advise through both tax and business changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze quarterly and annual income tax information for financial reporting from global regions.

  • Assist with initial preparation and analysis of the income tax footnotes and disclosures.

  • Assemble and analyze income tax reserves in accordance with ASC 740, deferred tax assets and liabilities, global income tax payable account and global income tax provision.

  • Assemble requested data and communication or correspondence with internal and external auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in application of accounting concepts (i.e. experience with income statement, balance sheet, journal entries, etc).

  • Basic knowledge and experience concerning accounting for income taxes (ASC 740).

  • Proficiency with Excel and Word.

  • Experience with Corptax or OneSource Tax Provision software a plus.

  • Must possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be a team-player with the ability to work in a group environment.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

  • Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish multiple tasks and projects without close supervision.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristic(s):

  • Masters degree

  • CPA
