PeaceHealth Labor Relations Consultant - Remote in Vancouver, Washington

PeaceHealth is seeking a Labor Relations Consultant. This remote role requires the incumbent to reside in OR, WA, AK or TX by date of hire.

This role provides consulting to the HR Partner Organization, HR colleagues and members of PeaceHealth's collective bargaining teams and. The purpose of this position is to consultant on a wide range of labor relations activity. This includes strategic problem-solving research, data gathering and analysis and information responses. This role will manage and keep the organization apprised on labor market conditions and make recommendation to respond. Additionally, this role serves as a consultant to local HR and core leaders who are experiencing labor organizing activity. This position partners with a cross-functional team of compensation experts, benefits professionals, human resource business partners, communications and others in support of strategic initiatives.

What you will enjoy:

  • Facilitates and recommends best practice approaches to labor and caregiver relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and making recommendations for workplace environment improvement. Participates in discussions that help define business questions and consults on appropriate reporting strategy to meet their objectives.

  • Provides expertise and technical knowledge in responding to labor related responses and inquires. Provides advice on regulatory and agency requirements, as well as all federal and state employment laws.

  • Identifies patterns and trends in data and tells compelling stories with data visuals and exhibits. Builds dashboards and maintains applications and databases in support of compensation initiatives as requested.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of Human Resources and Labor Relations initiatives, policies, and practices that contribute to positive labor and employee relations. Provides consultation and guidance to management and non-management employees.

  • Creates and maintains impactful visual representations of analytic insights and concise summaries of methodology geared to audience needs; presents selected portions to stakeholders.

  • Contributes to analytic project proposals.

  • Assists with RFI responses and other labor and collective bargaining related data needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field or a combination of education, training, and applicable experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years progressively responsible exempt level HR experience serving as a HR business partner, HR consultant, labor relations consultant or other related experience.

  • Highly skilled in reporting and analytics preferred.

  • Experience in a multi-site healthcare environment preferred.

  • Experience in varied ERP solutions preferred.

  • Exposure and business-applicable experience in Symplr or KRONOS, and related tools preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Advanced level of technical expertise in Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Skilled in one or more: Tableau, Power BI, Quickbase, QlikView or other dashboard analytics tools preferred.

  • Experience with MarketPay or other market-pricing database tools preferred.

  • Advanced analytical and qualitative skills – ability to analyze large datasets.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as critical thinking skills.

  • Attention to detail in all job-related aspects.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task daily.

  • Ability to collaborate with leadership and staff.

  • Knowledge of state and federal wage and hour and pay equity laws and general exposure to labor relations laws.

Working Conditions

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

  • Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
