Cloudbeds Design Director - UI/UX (Remote) in Boston, Massachusetts

We?re looking for people who want to disrupt the travel industry and love to travel as much as we do.As the Director of UI/UX Design, you will be involved in every stage of product development. From conception and research to final tweaks before shipping, You will be responsible for the design vision and implementation across our platform and beyond. You must have experience developing and working with design systems to be used company wide, along with a fluency in the best practices of information architecture and design. You will be managing a team of experienced designers to coordinate all product enhancements from a global UI/UX perspective.You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, designers, product managers and cross-functional leaders across the company to develop World-class solutions for a competitive market. You?ll manage, grow and inspire a team of designers to create thoughtful and beautiful interfaces that delight our customers from day one. Location: US (Remote)What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering and Designers to craft a design strategy that supports our customer?s growing needs for all web and mobile initiatives.

  • Manage a team of Designers and their work in providing guidance for all product teams on their sprints and feature builds

  • Develop and publish a Design System to be used internally by the entire design team, our front end developers and partners.

  • Help to establish a clear system for translating user-centered research into usable products.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers to formulate effective end-to-end design strategies.

  • Manage multiple projects, allocate resources and meet deadlines in an agile framework

  • Clearly communicate UX strategy, design and project status to key stakeholders.

  • Build, lead and mentor a team of designers and set them on a path for success.

  • Deliver compelling UI solutions, UX approaches and patterns for a consistent user experience

You?ll Succeed With:

  • 5-10 years experience in UX Design or User Interface Design for enterprise and/or consumer-oriented web and mobile apps, in a management capacity.

  • Deep understanding of UX processes, from discovery to ideation and iterative design and prototyping for both web and mobile platforms.

  • Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

  • Familiarity with standards-based HTML/CSS/JavaScript development. You will not be required to code, but a solid understanding of front-end development is expected.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with designers, content creators, product managers, and other cross-functional team members.

  • A strong portfolio of work showcasing product design successes.

  • An extensive knowledge of design principles and methods.

  • Outstanding written, verbal and visual presentation skills.

  • The ability to function in a distributed, and multi-cultural team, manage time, and complete tasks.

  • Working knowledge of design, prototyping & collaborative softwaresuch as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, InVision

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in design (UX, product), HCI, behavioral economics, cognitive psychology, or related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience working with remote teams and in a remote environment is a plus

  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
