We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Marine Safety and Permitting Consultant. Responsibilities: Perform various consulting-related duties supporting the development, analysis, permitting and financial aspects of marine survey and offshore renewable energy development projects. Conduct support and consulting efforts with multi-disciplinary teams to plan and complete projects on time and on budget. Serve as a technical and subject matter expert for marine projectsincluding responsibilities to provide input on marine safety standards, consult with USCG in advance of marine surveys, engage with clients to discuss technical aspects of interactions with USCG and other agencies with marine compliance and safety requirements and oversight authority, prepare and review documents and project/agency notifications and briefings, assist project teams and projects managers with establishing and formulating technical approaches for work on the water. Qualifications: B.S. in Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Marine Science/Engineering or related discipline. 12+ years of professional experience with a pattern of progressive achievements. Experience and knowledge of the regulatory frameworks of Pacific, New England and/or mid-Atlantic agencies (Energy Facilities Siting Board, Article VII, etc.) Experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), federal and state permitting, onshore and offshore wind, power generation and transmission, infrastructure, and/or renewable energy. Demonstrated successful technical expertise and management skills, especially leading and/or support teams conduct work on the water using manned and unmanned vessels. Applied knowledge of offshore biological, physical, and cultural resources and/or marine survey systems and sampling equipment. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills to convey technical information to clients and business and financial reports to management. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree Environmental Management/Planning or related background. 20+ years of combined marine consulting and marine safety experience. Experience managing and/or consulting on major projects with complex project teams on the West and East Coast. Experience with routing, siting, and permitting of electric transmission, offshore oil and gas infrastructure, subsea cable or offshore energy projects, including supporting and providing input on marine survey efforts and related vessels.
