We are currently looking for Energy & Carbon Engineer who will be part of Central Europe Energy & Carbon team.Preferable locations are cities with CBRE offices, such as Bucharest, Prague, Lisbon, Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade, Sofia, Ljubljana, Warsaw or Zagreb. However, within this role, you have the possibility to work fully remotely since the entire team collaborates in a virtual environment. Your roles and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Review existing buildings from site surveys, as built information, energy bills and research to quantify a building’s key energy performance factors

  • Create the initial and then detailed thermal models to define a building’s engineering and architectural requirements for high performance buildings

  • Understand a building’s engineering and building fabric factors to determine an efficient high performance building design

  • Work with in-house cost management team to evaluate cost-efficient high-performance building design solutions

  • Prepare high performance building briefs, feasibility studies, drawings, and specifications

  • Prepare planning energy strategies particularly GLA requirements

  • Liaise with clients to discuss and outline high performance building design solutions

  • Work with colleagues across CBRE to help shape our comprehensive high performance building market offer

Your Profile:

  • Understands legislative requirements in the EU (e.g. EPC) and Green Building Certification schemes (e.g. BREEAM)

  • Understands EU Taxonomy and Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM)

  • Understands mechanical and electrical equipment, controls, and systems used in all types of buildings

  • Understands how to build energy models calibrated to past utility consumption to meet the needs of the assignment. Includes use of IES VE software modelling or alternatively Design Builder. Ideally familiar with IES Apache HVAC or Detailed HVAC design

  • Uses theoretical understanding of physics, chemistry, engineering, architecture, and life sciences to execute an effective Engineering design

  • Understands how to conduct a systematic inspection, review, and reporting of the state of a commercial building’s structure and systems

  • Understands the physical behaviour of the building as a system and how this impacts energy efficiency, durability, comfort, and indoor air quality and how this impact innovating high-performance buildings

  • Requires a general level of understanding, knowledge and skills relating to issues and priorities for corporate real estate and build environments.
