Work with a talented team of IaaS engineers on the Systems Infrastructure Team that support the compute, storage, and virtualization infrastructure at CoStar. Our team works hard to ensure 100% uptime for online sites such as Apartments.com, LoopNet.com, CoStar.com, and Homes.com. Work with the latest VMware virtualization IaaS platforms and engineer the solutions that allow deployment of over 1,100 new VMs each year. The DevOps, DBA and internal business units rely on the Systems Infrastructure Team to support not only the virtualization but also the storage and server computing needs of the company. Work with modern all-flash SAN arrays & Fibre Channel networking to ensure the highest performance possible for our web site customers. Streamline and expand the use of our Cisco UCS blades to keep up with web site demand.

This position is in Irvine, CA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point person for critical issues that affect the storage, compute and virtual infrastructure

  • Maintain high availability for all our IaaS offerings

  • Work with DBA and DevOps and other internal team to gather project requirements for new initiatives

  • Own complex support issues end-to-end and find creative workarounds, improve our monitoring tools

  • Build, support and enhance hundreds of VMware hosts across the US and Europe

  • Monitor VMware VM & host performance and mitigate host oversubscription issues

  • Manage and support multiple vCenter instances

  • Supports both on-prem and AWS AMI pipeline & distributing updated templates and AMIs

  • Provision new SAN storage to VMware and Windows hosts

  • Ensure all IaaS software & firmware remain up to date to ensure the latest features and security

  • Deploy new Cisco UCS compute including Fabric Interconnects, chassis, and blades

  • Enhance and support our automation tools that drive team consistency and efficiency

  • Participate in periodic on-call rotation and provide after hours on-call support as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science or related field)

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers

  • 5+ years of VMware data center experience

  • 4+ years working with enterprise Storage Area Networking and fabrics.

  • 4+ years working with Cisco UCS

  • 4+ years writing PowerShell or Python scripts from scratch

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Several years demonstrated experience automating complex tasks using tools such as PowerShell, PowerCLI, UCS PowerTools, Posh-SSH, Git, Python, Chef, or Puppet. Experience working with REST APIs is a plus.

  • Experience with large-scale virtualization (1000-5000+ VM) environments using technologies such as VMware vCenter, vSAN, vROps, vRealize Orchestrator, vLog Insight and PowerCli.

  • Storage area network (SAN) experience supporting multiple arrays (Pure Storage, HP 3PAR, EMC Isilon, HP MSA). Fibre Channel and iSCSI. Automates SAN operations such as LUN (de)provisioning and snapshot management

  • Experience managing Cisco UCS platform (Fabric Interconnects, Layer-2, Chassis, Blades,

  • One or more related certifications such as VMware VCP-DCV, VMware VCP-CMA, VMware VCP-CO, VMware VCAP-DCV, VMware VCAP-CMA, EMC EMCISA, EMCSA, Pure Storage Certified Architect Professional, HPE ATP – Storage Solutions V2, Cisco DCUCS, Cisco DCUCI, Cisco CCNP Data Center

  • Dell | EMC Isilon or NetApp FAS

  • Strong Windows server experience as it relates to storage provisioning and Microsoft Clustering

  • Monitoring tools such as PRTG, LogicMonitor, vLog Insight, vRops, Azure Log Analytics

This position offers a base salary range of $117,000.00 – $208,000.00, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
