Optiv Sr. Director, Federal Advisory Services | Remote, USA in Columbia, Maryland

This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S .

The Sr. Director of Advisory Services for the Public Sector is a seasoned veteran in advisory consulting, including but not limited to infrastructure, cloud, networking, and compliance advisory for a wide range of customers. This role combines domain knowledge with delivery and sales skills to grow and expand the Advisory Services portfolio of capabilities and contribute growth to the Services business. This role will oversee multiple complex projects at once and must have multiple successful implementations across large-scale projects. This Sr. Director will also be responsible for leading multiple teams of consultants and mentoring and delivering development teams across U.S. Public Sector clients. This individual will drive the Advisory Services line of business within the Services organization and will report to and partner with the Vice President of Services to deliver on the growth plan.

How you'll make an impact

  • Achieve expert-level knowledge in multiple Practice solution areas and be able to  effectively translate client needs into actionable proposals and contracts in a timely fashion

  • Contribute to the growth of the Optiv+ClearShark Services business

  • Lead the delivery of services to assigned client(s) in a cost-effective and efficient manner  

  • Drive demand generation across the full portfolio including sales enablement support

  • Achieve financial targets for assigned projects

  • Share appropriate knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients

  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally by writing blog posts, articles, white papers, or hosting webinars

  • Responsible for the performance of all engineering teams within the Advisory Services portfolio

  • Accountable for the overall client life cycle management from sales to delivery for assigned client(s) 

  • Review and approve proposal & SOW creation for projects within the assigned portfolio

  • Oversee Technical Services demand pipeline and identify cross-sell & up-sell opportunities across client engagements   

  • Partner with clients to solution & communicate the proper solution blueprint on specific custom  deals  

  • Provide guidance and direction to project team members and associated leadership resources

  • Work with the Services Operations team, as well as the Advisory Services team leaders and managers to ensure proper resources are lined up against the delivery proposal 

  • Architect solutions to ensure that the customer's requirements are met

  • Assist with the development of cyber engagement plans for customers which will enable them to execute strategies

  • Lead client satisfaction efforts for all Advisory Services, including client feedback, escalation, remediation, and improvement efforts across the Services business

  • Recognized expert across multiple solution areas

  • Comfortable leading discussions with Client executives on broad as well as specific subject matter

  • Able to present to large groups. Speaks as an authority

  • Can handle difficult questions and consistently wins support from client audiences

  • Ability to envision consulting approach and deliverables for new areas of work for Optiv + ClearShark

  • Can modify and change methodologies as required

  • Broad awareness of the security/ technology space as a whole

  • Establishes industry expertise through writing, speaking, or online presence

  • Contributor to industry groups and/or publications

What we're looking for

  • Currently holds or can obtain a Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 15-20 years of related work experience

  • Approximately 10-12 years of advisory experience

  • At least 10 years of expert understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI, and CMMC

  • Experience bringing products to market holistically with full-scale go-to-market experience preferred

  • Experience with third-party assessment organization (3PAO)

  • Must understand FedRAMP and have experience supporting or preparing for FedRAMP audits

  • Must understand IL constructs and operating in classified environments

  • Previous management experience with foundational knowledge of running an account P&L

  • Proven experience in pre-sales and post-sales roles

  • Proven experience building and leading a portfolio of capabilities, including but not limited to Zero Trust capabilities, education and training services, FedRAMP services, and more

  • Experience in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals and contracts

  • Experience driving large and complex initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research/analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success 

  • Knowledge of general security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures, and governance

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences

  • Possess a high standard of integrity and confidentiality

  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs
