The Role at a Glance
The AVP, Value Stream IT Lead for Product and Administration is responsible for overseeing the technological aspects of product development and administration systems within Lincoln’s Group Benefits business. This role combines technical leadership with business acumen to drive digital transformation and enable operational efficiency. This role provides strategic direction and functional expertise to guide the architectural decisions for the integrated solutions for Lincoln’s Group Benefits Product & Administration Value Stream. They define the shared technical and architectural vision for the Value Stream and champion quality solutions which meet customer needs. This position leads 8-10 agile teams and manages third party vendor relationships. Direct reports to this individual include but are not limited to engineering chapter leadership, scrum master chapter leadership and technical architecture leadership.
What you'll be doing
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead the technology strategy for product development and administration systems.
Leads the strategy creation for integrated solutions of digital products and platforms within a Value Stream at the program level.
Champions architectural decisions, manages risk and technology modernization initiatives.
Value Stream Management:
Oversee end-to-end delivery of IT solutions to achieve business/technology outcomes within the Product and Administration value stream.
Collaborates with Value Stream IT leadership across Group Protection domain, to ensure execution alignment and the successful development, release, and launch of quality products.
Manage third party vendor relationships and quality of delivery. Leads implementation of co-development partner programs.
Oversee resource and vendor budget and financials for the Product & Administration value stream.
Technical Leadership:
Manages the Value Stream technical performance; mentors and empowers the technical teams to make local decisions and resolve differences and dependencies to synchronize the architectural solution.
Collaborates with stakeholders, teams, customers, and suppliers to define the technology infrastructure and its interfaces between sub-systems and its solution context.
Participates in quarterly planning readiness, communicates the architecture/technology vision at Value Stream planning events, leads technology sync.
Explores architectural alternatives, including new technology vendor solutions; informs “build vs. buy” decisions.
Oversees system performance, technical currency, risks and incident management for their area of responsibility.

Servant leader who is outcome and execution focused. Collaborates with product management, stakeholders and their team to remove roadblocks, bring alignment and solve problems.
Champions and influences change management initiatives for department/enterprise initiatives.
Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
Establishes and aligns priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental and team results.
Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Builds organizational capability T-shaping skills, DevSecOps and upskilling for new technologies within their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
4 Year/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (or equivalent) (Minimum Required)
5+ years' experience in Insurance, or Financial Services. Preferably working with Group Insurance technology and/or vendor administration or billing platform implementations. Experience leading large scale technical transformations.
10+ Years experience architecting, building, and delivering leading edge scalable solutions. Experienced leader in an Agile organization, championing iterative approaches to planning and development. (Required)
Strong communicator, business partner and strategic thinker.
3+ Years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience. (Required)

Effective productivity/technology tools and training
The pay range for this position is $120,600 - $220,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
