Our client is the world’s largest scientific membership association and one of the top ten science publishers in the world.
We are recruiting for a skilled Data Engineer professional to help transform data into actionable insights that guide business decisions. This role focuses on managing and optimizing data pipelines, supporting data analysis, and creating visualizations using tools like Tableau. Strong analytical mindset, experience with data engineering best practices, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to leverage data effectively. Requires adherence to established data governance standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70 - $80 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
· Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance: Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable data flow across the organization. Ensure data quality through effective validation and transformation processes.
· Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights. Analyze complex data sets and translate findings into concise, valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
· Visualization and Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, enabling real-time insights for various business functions. Design accessible, user-friendly reports to support data-driven initiatives.
· Data Quality and Compliance: Follow data governance best practices and standards to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all data activities. Perform regular data quality checks to ensure alignment with organizational guidelines.
· Collaboration with Business Units: Work closely with business units to understand data requirements, gather insights, and provide support on data-related issues. Act as a liaison between technical and business teams to ensure alignment on data goals.
Experience Requirements:
Technical Skills
· Data Engineering Tools and Techniques: Proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, and data transformation to manage and optimize data flows.
· Data Visualization: Extensive experience with Tableau or similar tools, creating clear, impactful dashboards to deliver insights.
· Data Quality Management: Experience in conducting data quality checks and adhering to data governance best practices.
· Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and deliver insights that support business strategies.
· Programming and Scripting: Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
Qualifications
· Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in data engineering or data support roles, with hands-on experience in data analysis, pipeline management, and visualization.
· Additional Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience with data warehousing solutions is a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
