Do you have at least 2 years of experience working and analyzing Workers Compensation Claims and decisioning on them in the State of Alaska? Do you have prior experience working as a Worker's Compensation Claims Adjuster within a large corporation? Do you desire to continue doing what you love from the comfort of your own home? This opportunity requires an active Alaska license and is working with a well respected, large insurance provider. The role involves gathering information, connecting with multiple touchpoints, analyzing the gathered information, documenting the findings with supporting facts, putting together action plans, and following them through. It is a great opportunity for the experienced Worker's Compensation Claims Adjuster who holds their Alaska license and is looking for a 3 month plus work-from-home consulting opportunity.

salary: $22 - $25 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Support the Workers' Compensation Claims Department dedicated to issuing timely, accurate benefit payments to customers and channel partners. You must hold an active Alaska Workers Comp License and an active Alaska Property and Casualty Adjuster License.

Accountabilities include:

  • Reviewing and processing complicated workers' compensation claims

  • Handling the high exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation action

  • Researching and analyzing legal information and facts gathered

  • Monitoring the course of claims investigations and utilizing resources to reach claim decisions

  • Thoroughly documenting claims decisions

  • Developing and coordinating compensation claims' action plans for resolution, return to work, and approval of payments

  • Investigating claims to make sure they are not fraudulent

  • Negotiating settlements

  • Managing records

  • Preparing necessary state filings within the statutory limits

  • Calculating and paying benefits due

  • Communicating the claim action plan with the claimant and client
