Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join the Clinical Strategy & Analytics team. The role will be responsible for collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets. The ideal candidate has a solid background in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a health-related field, with experience in SQL and Microsoft Excel, including Power Query and data analysis packages.

Primary Responsibilities:
Collect and interpret data from various databases to provide actionable insights
Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from SQL Server databases
Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business decision-making
Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within data
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and consult with stakeholders to understand their data needs, identify areas of improvement, and deliver tailored solutions
Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting as required
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization
Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions. Identifies potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies. Provides data in support of actuarial, financial and utilization analyses.

Required Qualifications:
Experience working with SQL Server and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Power Query and Data Analysis Toolpak
Proven solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings
Proven excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Proven effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS)
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
