Lumen SP&T is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our OSS organization to help transform our Inventory, Qualification, and Provisioning applications. This individual will drive the DevOps culture by working with multi-disciplinary teams (Developers, Architects, Testers, Infrastructure, Enterprise DevOps), to fully automate the infrastructure, build, and deployment process both for on-prem and cloud, in a fast-paced agile environment. The candidate will also help ensure adequate monitoring, logging, reporting, and alerting solutions are in place to achieve high system reliability.
The Main Responsibilities
Participate in software development using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using the DevOps toolchain for different technologies
Develop POCs using emerging technologies for continuous improvement of the overall development and deployment process
Help integrate apps with enterprise monitoring tools, support systems, and log platforms and build system health dashboards
Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives to plan, track, and code development tasks
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment where team members and business partners are located across the US and internationally
Provide on-call support
What We Look For in a Candidate
4+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer
2+ years of software development experience leveraging one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, .NET, NodeJS, etc.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using various tools such as Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Junit, Mockito, Docker, Nexus repository, Maven/Gradle, Sonarqube, Kubernetes, etc.
Experience building REST APIs and containerization of microservices
Experience working with SQL and No SQL databases like Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
Experience with at least one of the cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Working knowledge of AppDynamics, BigPanda & Splunk for monitoring, alerting, and centralized logging of applications and services
Preferred (Not mandatory):
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc.
Knowledge of Test Driven Development, Selenium, and Robot Framework for test automation
Experience with UNIX shell scripts, Perl, etc.
