House of Blues Frontend Engineer III - React.JS (Hollywood, CA or REMOTE) in Hollywood, California

Job Summary:

The role.Ticketmaster is searching for a skilled software engineer who can contribute significantly to one of our most important fan-facing products! As an engineer within the Marketplace technology organization, you will be helping fans get access to the artists and teams they love. You will be working with a team of Javascript developers to implement event-driven data flows using cloud services, modern infrastructure, and intuitive user interfaces. Our team is responsible for managing the Verified Fan platform that helps our most passionate fans get the best access to inventory. We work directly with data scientists to feed machine learning models that help us understand a buyer's likeliness to attend the show for which they're purchasing.   • Implementing scalable distributed systems based in the cloud

  • Coming up with creative solutions that improve the fan experience and provide the business with critical insight

  • Contributing to systems design and architectural decisions that utilize streaming, containerization technologies, and serverless components

  • Working with a team of passionate technologists, committed to Agile development

  • Participating in code reviews, pair programming, helping your peers, and knowing when to ask for help

What a qualified candidate should possess:

  • 3+ years professional software engineering experience

  • Experience in Javascript, NodeJS, using ES7+, npm, and frameworks such as Express or Koa

  • Experience working with service-oriented architectures and microservices

  • Experience building serverless applications on AWS using Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, S3, and/or DynamoDB

  • Comfort with behavior-driven development and automation testing with Cucumber/Gherkin

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes

  • Fluency in both object-oriented and functional programming styles

  • Strong grasp of data structures and algorithm design

  • Experience building performant web services and applications – tasks that are easy at low scale can be incredibly challenging at Ticketmaster's scale so performance tuning and fault-tolerant architecture design are necessary

  • Strong communication skills and ability to be a supportive team member

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them in novel ways
