The Specialty Applications Regional Sale Manager Role (RSM) will be part of the Celanese Engineered Materials US/Canada Leadership Team and report to the Sr. Sales Director – Spec Apps & Channel. The Spec Apps RSM will lead a team of direct Account Managers focused on driving growth within their region. This team focuses heavily on the consumer industrial, electrical & electronic, appliance, water filtration and industrial end markets .The RSM will be responsible for meeting the Annual Operating Plan for the region, commensurate with the growth deliverables for the business. Performance measurements will be sales, volume and pipeline execution within the region.
Lead a team of Spec Apps Account Managers to perform at their individual and collective best to deliver the growth strategy by delivering both sales and volume expectations.
Develop a growth strategy for the region, while growth, mentoring, supporting and developing a team of sales hunters is essential for this position.
Drive accountability with the team using a robust commercial cadence with the utilization of performance metrics.
Establish Individual Development Plans with each Account Manager to ensure personal growth while helping to establish Celanese as a preferred/desired place to work.
Effectively manage the team’s pipeline ensuring proper stages and closed/won business captured as planned.
Understand the performance and value proposition of CE products/solutions and actively assist the spec apps team in capturing optimal value
Lead development, communication and implementation of segment/application growth plans
Support introduction and sale of new products to customers via translation opportunities
Assist in Customer Options Mapping sessions and lead follow-up required actions
Diversify customer base with new customers and applications
BS in Engineering, Science or Business degree - advanced degree preferred
5-10 years of Commercial Experience in a Sales Leadership role
Must have Account Management or Application Development experience at a chemical, or plastic’s company
Managing a sales or application development team is required
Track record of building and leading teams with proven consecutive year over year performance
Experience driving growth, while optimizing team performance, including top grading
Ability to understand, develop, communicate and implement application segment strategies
Sales and negotiation skills
Ability to work with customers and internal business & technical partners to develop solutions
Ability to apply technical and/or business knowledge to solve new problem
Ability to recruit, train and onboard AM talent
