Peninsula Fiber Network NextGen 911 Technician (REMOTE) in Marquette, Michigan

Peninsula Fiber Network, LLC (PFN), a rapidly expanding fiber optic telecommunications company, is seeking a full-time NextGen 911 Technician to join their team remotely in Southeast Michigan. As a NextGen 911 Technician, you will act as a technical liaison between PFN and the NextGen 911 customers. This position will work closely with and report directly to PFN's NextGen 911 Program Director to ensure that the delivered service is operating in line with PFN specifications and that all changes are delivered as required.

Regional travel is required. Travel will be primarily in Southeast Michigan, with occasional travel throughout the state.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of reports and deliverables as determined by NextGen Program Director.
  • Assist with technical issues surrounding the delivery of service.
  • Coordinate with vendors as identified for delivery of PFN products.
  • Assist with connectivity to customer CPE and service providers.
  • Conduct audits and maintain documentation of PFN equipment.
  • Assist PFN engineering with service delivery testing, evaluation, and repair.
  • Coordinate equipment installations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Assist in training of PSAO personnel.
  • Provide feedback to PFN engineering and INdigital regarding product performance and replacement.
  • Work with PFN engineering, NextGen 911 customers, vendors and PFN NextGen 911 vendors (including Indigital) on trouble resolution.
  • Report recommended changes to product function or performance.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain records on services that have been performed.
  • Assist sales with application recommendations.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

PFN puts great value in the NextGen911 Technician position by offering a competitive annual salary of $70,000 to $80,000 commensurate with experience. PFN also offers excellent benefits including a 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution, insurance including health, dental, vision, and life, paid holidays, and paid time off.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to read network diagrams.
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours with a changing schedule.
  • Must pass CJIS security requirements to enter a 911 Dispatch Center.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and work with minimum supervision.
