FCP Euro Full Stack Software Developer - Remote in Milford, Connecticut

FCP Euro is looking for a sharp full-time remote Full Stack Software Developer.  We are seeking an individual who has experience with Rails API as well as a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.

Job Summary

A qualified candidate uses knowledge of programming, operating systems, and supporting application systems to design and implement business systems. They’re a role model of professional decorum, with strong communication skills, testing incorporated workflows, and are on call for operational support issues. They work directly with stakeholders on the scope of requirements, are able to share their ideas and contribute positively to the growth of our company.  A Full-stack Software Developer will mentor Junior team members, are able to work at any level of the stack, and support all applications at FCP Euro. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work directly with stakeholders issuin g improvements for the organiza tion’s app portfolio

  • Possess strong frontend orientation including templating, style and interactive scripting skills

  • Work alongside colleagues to translate business specifications into fast, maintainable and exception-resilient web applications

  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and executing work within a Jira workflow

  • Identify, record, and document bugs

  • Role-model a professional demeanor, mentoring junior members of the team and contributing positively to the team's energy

  • Proactively build features with test coverage, identify and fill lapses in existing feature coverage

  • Be aware of modern Rails patterns (and more importantly anti-patterns) when performing periodic audits

  • Proactively seek technical self-development and bring extractions back to the team

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Ruby on Rails development experience

  • Proven work experience in software development

  • Experience writing automated specs

  • Competency in additional languages, including Javascript

  • Open source activity and engagement

  • RSpec BDD experience

  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

  • A positive attitude, growth mindset

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, or relevant experience

    Compensation

  • $90,000 to $120,000 Base Salary, with a total compensation opportunity of $105,000 to $140,000 annually.

  • This is a full-time remote position; must be located in the United States.
