Responsibilities Req ID: 56217 Provides technical, clinical and operational support to the processes and procedures performed on the patient care unit, clinical community, and remotely at other Allina Hospitals. This includes but is not limited to the following: diagnostic testing supply and quality control, and other unit specific processes or procedures supporting patient care. Observes, documents and reports baseline EKG rhythm, trends and changes to RNs and physicians on non-cardiovascular and selected cardiovascular patients. Obtains and transmits an artifact-free 12 lead EKG tracing on the patient care units. Education Two years college/vocational education or EMT Certification required. EMT preferred. Qualification/Skills Experience: 1-2 years hospital experience preferred EKG/Telemetry interpretation experience preferred. Must be able to pass a basic EKG test. 12 lead EKG preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, telephone communication skills, multitasking, and teamwork are necessary. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Priority setting, problem solving, ability to communicate effectively with patient, families, physicians and staff, excellent team work skills, ability to be self-directed. Demonstrated ability to understand and speak technical and conversational English. Patient care experience, 12 lead EKG, and EKG monitoring and interpretation. Basic computer skills.
