The position supports the Network Operations team. The position is responsible for owning the development of project plans, guiding, and monitoring organizational performance to plan, identifying factors to determine organizational effectiveness and recommend areas of improvement and enhancement. The position will manage assigned Network Operations team projects and meetings and will serve as a key resource with other functional teams across Optum to execute on business and operational goals.

If you are located in Ontario, CA, you will have the flexibility to telecommute within 50 miles of the office* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Project Management expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of assigned projects and maintains a project management framework that enables a project core team to successfully execute projects. Maintains and analyzes project schedule and prepares regular status reports for management and key stakeholders. Identify project risks, opportunities and issues and develop resolutions to meet quality and timeline goals and objectives

  • Coordinate complex projects that require cross functional coordination. Work closely with all departments to accomplish mutual goals and strategies to achieve company goals

  • Fosters open communication by interacting directly with operational management and senior leadership and acts as a resource to all internal and external customers to ensure smooth program operations

  • Identify and analyze trends, strategies, and tactics to increase the productivity of the operations teams to drive positive performance on organizational key performance metrics and improve the customer experience

  • Evaluates program success through appropriate evaluation methods including, but not limited to, patient/provider focus groups, customer service/provider surveys for customer experience feedback and data analysis

  • Monitors processes to ensure projects/programs are successful, including maintaining continuous quality improvement activities to ensure outcomes achieve targeted performance goals Identify, develop, and present recommendations, lead implementation of approved solutions

  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings; prepare draft agendas and materials for review with VPs, key stakeholders, or delegate; issue agendas with appropriate backup materials; take minutes, and provide follow-up correspondence

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)

  • 4+ years of experience in full life cycle project management experience

  • Advanced PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook, Share Point, and Business Maps)

Preferred Qualification:

  • PMP or CAPM certification

  • 2+ years of healthcare or clinic operations experience

  • Experience with MS Project

  • Experience with Tableau
