About the role
Splunk Global Security (SGS) is growing our GRC program, and we are looking for a Senior Security Risk Analyst. This role will be responsible for the ongoing development and evolution of Splunk’s cybersecurity risk management program by applying a broad knowledge of security and information technology risk principles, processes, and practices to help to ensure Splunk continues to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:
Continuing the advancement of Splunk’s cybersecurity risk management efforts, including the risk management lifecycle
Leading the effort to support the identification, analysis, and governance of cybersecurity risks across the organization
Understanding cybersecurity risks and assessing mitigation strategies to confirm alignment with risk appetite
Maintaining strong working relationships with individuals and groups involved in managing, mitigating, and remediating cybersecurity risks across the organization
Assisting management with defining the organization’s cybersecurity risk appetite, and leading the efforts to implement and enforce it – making it relevant to the business on a day-to-day basis
Building and facilitating risk assessment exercises
Proactively obtaining information on emerging risks and effectively analyzing against the risk posture
Executive level reporting for various global audiences
Building trust and effectively facilitating risk identification/analysis/treatment discussions
Researching and interpreting industry insights and best practices, along with interpreting impact of requirements from governing authorities
Developing and maintaining reporting cybersecurity risk dashboards and metrics
Continually championing the remediation of visibility and capability gaps and breakdown roadblocks standing in the way of a robust security posture
Effectively translating technical language into business terms
Acting as a source of direction, training, and mentorship for less experienced staff
Preferred qualifications
6+ years of professional experience in a risk or compliance related role
3+ years of cybersecurity and/or IT experience
Experience building risk management programs and/or continuous improvement of the risk management environment highly preferred, in a globally regulated organization a plus
Solid grasp of security governance, risk, and compliance concepts – policy management, control frameworks, program maturity, risk appetite, risk management, US and International laws and regulations
Demonstrable experience actively governing risks and threats globally
Demonstrable experience conducting risk assessments and facilitating executive level risk discussions
Experience with regulatory compliance, including cybersecurity risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF/RMF, ISO2700x/31000) preferred
Strong presentation skills, both creating and presenting
Excellent communications, both oral and written
Ability to adapt messaging to the appropriate level for the audience, with the appropriate depth and breadth – both verbally and visually
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to plan, coordinate, and track projects; solid project management skills a plus
Experience with enterprise GRC management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, Archer, MetricStream, OneTrust)
Professional certification such as GIAC, CRMA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CISA, CIA, or PMP
Experience working with collaboration and ticketing systems such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $116,000.00 - 159,500.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $104,800.00 - 144,100.00 per year
