BlackBerry QNX is seeking to fill the role of Product Manager, Virtualization. This exciting role will help BlackBerry QNX expand on their industry leading BlackBerry QNX product virtualization portfolio.

In this role, you will work with your Product Management colleagues to help define and execute our BlackBerry QNX virtualization roadmap and strategy that includes virtualization products for the automotive and general embedded markets. Virtualization at QNX is a foundational technology that involves deep integration with silicon along with support of Android, Linux, and our entire software portfolio. We are pioneers in this space, leading with numerous functional safety certifications of our virtualization products and adhering to standards such as VIRTIO that are key for out-of-the-box support of multiple operating environments.

To be successful in this role, you should have strong technical, business, and organizational skills with a proven ability to engage internally and externally with multiple stakeholders successfully. The ability to articulate and manage at the conceptual level as well as to dive deep into the solution details when required are important success factors in this role. This role will also bring the opportunity to work very closely with our customers globally and help address real-word challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full lifecycle management of our virtualization products and related services.
  • Help drive the go-to-market strategy and launch new products in support of our multi-year product roadmap.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Legal, Finance and other groups to manage the BlackBerry QNX virtualization products from concept to general availability, participating and leading cross-functional initiatives as required.
  • In conjunction with our marketing team, develop positioning and messaging to drive business capture and thought leadership.
  • Continually gather customer feedback and help identify where we can offer the most value with our virtualization products to enable customer success.
  • Perform competitive and market trend analysis on an ongoing basis.
  • Prime for Webinars, tradeshows, customer / prospect tours, other outbound events.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or master’s in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree or diploma.
  • 5+ years of product management experience related to Automotive electronic systems and/or other mission critical embedded devices.
  • Experience in virtualization of edge/embedded products in IoT and/or desktop environments.
  • Ability to clearly articulate product requirements and prioritize enhancement requests.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, finance, and marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting at various levels across an organization.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS:

  • Proven ability to work and engage with world-class engineering talent
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems, hypervisor, and development tool software
  • Knowledge and interest in functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-178C) and/or security standards (e.g., ISO 21434)
  • Strong verbal, written, project management, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong customer service orientation are required
  • Strong technical background to be able to successfully engage with automotive and general embedded customers
