Brown and Caldwell (BC) is looking for a Geotechnical National Specialty Leader to join our Design Services enterprise group. In this role the candidate will provide technical support as the head of the Geotechnical specialty to all BC projects and their respective teams including in pursuits, execution, and construction. Over time and at the recommendation of this leadership position, the potential exists to build a geotechnical specialty team to support our projects across the regions where we work. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills and be a highly organized and responsive individual, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with completing priorities. Our successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude; will be flexible and self-motivated, creative, quality-oriented with attention to detail and be accountable for this discipline. The candidate must have excellent geotechnical engineering skills and experience in deep foundation and soil stability mitigation techniques commonly used in water and wastewater related pipelines and facilities, HDD for small and large diameter pipeline, design support for projects on or near dams, levees and spillways, slope stabilization, dewatering, excavations and retaining structures, using industry-common tools and software models. Detailed Description: Lead in developing a Geotechnical Specialty within Brown and Caldwell. Work with Civil, and Structural National Discipline Leaders and the respective Subject Matter Expert's to develop geotechnical support services in coordination with our established disciplines. Develop marketing materials for geotechnical specialty within our overall service support offerings. Develop and provide internal training program for BC Client Service Managers, Project Managers, and leadership team, to educate on what our specialty capabilities are and what the respective market support looks like over time. Assemble a team of geotechnical engineers nationally to serve BC needs in each region. Provide guidance on selection of geotechnical solutions in all aspects of our projects. Provide conceptual ideas based on available information for proposals and pre-design efforts. Develop and maintain strategic partner relationships with necessary firms to support Geotechnical specialties needs. Prepare geotechnical-related scoping for contracts with local geotechnical sub-consultants, including guidance for field explorations, locations and types of borings, and testing required to provide data for design. Assist with proposal development and support project pursuits, including proposal interviews with clients. Manage outside sub-consultants on projects and be accountable for their design production and quality. Assist with innovative solutions for projects with difficult soil-related challenges. Maintain status as a Subject Matter Expert designated to create and maintain geotechnically related standard specifications. Be familiar with challenges unique to soils throughout the country, including seismic considerations. Lead/assist with Risk Management of geotechnical project components including development of risk register entries and mitigation strategies. Desired Skills and Experience: Master's degree in Engineering (Geotechnical). Minimum of 20 years of related professional experience as Geotechnical Engineer. PE license required and ability to acquire licensure in multiple states as required. Minimum of 10 years' experience of group supervision with 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience in project and/or sub-consultant management. Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently, and in both local and remote team environments. Must have experience in proposal development and project pursuit support. Must have experience in presentations to Clients, industry confer nces and project teams. Must have experience in design of various geotechnical related systems as referenced above and familiar with design requirements of the industry reference standards and the International Building Code. Experience in Design-Build project delivery preferred. Candidate must be willing and able to travel, up to 20% of the time. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Salary: Location A: $127,000- $174,000.00

Location B: $140,000- $191,000.00

Location C: $152,000- $208,000.00
