Healthfirst Senior Business Analyst - Remote Work Option in Remote, New York

The Senior Business Analyst facilitates business process improvement by methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of functional business specifications. The incumbent supports reporting functionality (report design and data structure) for various reporting needs. He/she is considered the subject matter expert for Member Service related analytical, complex, and high profile projects. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for Contact Center application systems and analytics geared toward enhancing Member Service operation efficiency, quality, and effectiveness. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for all interdepartmental collaborations (with Program Managers, IT/IS, etc.) focusing strongly on mapping out current and future processes, defining business objectives and requirements for each project and ensuring that all project deliverables are implemented. The Senior Business Analyst provides ad hoc analysis and assistance on retaining Members, increasing customer satisfaction and enhancing customer relations. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating testing with team leads, working directly with the management teams to make project decisions ensuring deliverables are communicated to the project team.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Research, analyze and interpret a wide variety of data and provide assistance to Business and Operation Analysts in the development of indicators, measures, and management reporting.

  • Create reports and data extracts against database using MS Access, SAS, Qlikview, Crystal Reports, and MS Excel.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of data relationships with time constraints.

  • Create ad hoc reports for upper level management.

  • Lead analysts on Business System supports. Represent Member Services in Reliability meetings.

  • Lead analysts in Call Center systems and Member Portal development.

  • Lead workforce management related activities. Prepare / present regular / timely staffing forecast.

  • Promote Workforce Management as a concept. Report key performance metrics related to the call center.

  • Lead and work with the development team on custom application or key business systems development.

    Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent working experience

    Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and work with independence and initiative as well as strong problem solving ability

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as leading in a team environment

  • Capability of multi-tasking including strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability and willingness to handle increasing workload and responsibility

  • Strong ability to adapt to and apply the latest technology

  • Experience with MHS and/or MACESS systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work within regulatory and compliance guidelines

  • Research and analytical experience in examining problems and participation in implementing innovative solutions

  • Work experience with access to confidential information and other data types

  • Experience with in-depth manipulation of data to assist with root-causing, trending and summarization of projects presented to various level audiences

  • Proficiency in either SQL, or SAS Enterprise Guide process flow programming

  • Proficiency in Excel analytics and reporting functionality (pivot tables, graphs, v-lookup, etc.)

  • Experience with VBA macro programming
