Description: A remote Sr. Airframe Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, direct or contract position. Great matching candidates, either local or remote, will need a Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, and approximately 10+ years of applicable experience. In this role, you will be contributing to the conceptual design of commercial aerospace products for primary and secondary structure.

Job Duties:

  • Lead team in the development of comprehensive airframe design projects, providing technical direction to mid- and junior-level project staff.

  • Create complex 3D models and 2D drawings of pre- and post-production detail parts, assemblies, installations, sub-systems, and integrations for fixed-wing applications.

  • Create and manage technical engineering documentation including bill of materials, trade studies, technical evaluations, and logistics support.

  • Manage personal workload while directly assisting with the technical development and guidance of junior staff.

  • Provide project oversight and reporting for assigned projects. Must have the ability to work in a team engineering environment with both internal teams and external customers at all times, providing new ideas and actively participating in process improvements.

  • Assist in the development and coordination of assigned project schedules

  • Provide post-delivery technical assistance to customer and support internal reviews of solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline

  • 10+ years of strong, applicable experience

  • Extensive experience with:

1) Unigraphics (NX) modeling and drafting, including experience with surface modeling along complex curvatures

2) Teamcenter Product Data Management (PDM) tool

3) Developing and maintaining a Bill of Materials (BOM)

4) Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Robust background operating with industry-standard specifications, tools, and procedures

  • Comprehensive experience working with other disciplines such as structural/thermal analysis, production, avionics, systems engineering, etc.

  • Experience with Sheet Metal, Machining, and Composites Design

  • Periodic travel to the customer facilities

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills, with the ability to develop clear technical presentations and recommendations for customers and suppliers

  • U.S. Citizen required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and related documents for technical accuracy

  • Composites modeling experience

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $99,840-124,800 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
