Description: A remote Structural Engineer job for analysis of rocket engine components is available through Belcan. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor"s of Science degree in either Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural analyst with five to seven years experience in rocket engine components, and at least two years of working experience using ANSYS Workbench for structural analysis. As such, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and optimization of rocket engine components to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

Structures Engineer Job Duties:

  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural integrity of rocket engine components.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and refine structural designs of various rocket engine components for both development and production support, considering factors such as material selection and operational requirements.

  • Perform strength and fatigue analyses to assess the behavior of rocket engine components under various operational conditions.

  • Generate detailed engineering reports and technical documentation to clearly communicate analysis results, design recommendations, and project status progress.

  • Participate in an analysis team, as well as potentially assisting in leading and mentoring other engineers, manage daily and weekly activities of those on team, and report status to technical leads and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of five years experience in the aerospace industry, preferably with rocket engines

  • Strong background in structural mechanics and finite element analysis, with a firm understanding of engineering fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, mechanics, thermodynamics, and combustion analysis and be able to perform engineering hand calculations related to rocket engine and turbomachinery design

  • Experience and solid understanding of both static and dynamic structural analysis, strength and fatigue assessments, bolted flange analysis, and crack propagation

  • Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis software (ANSYS/Hypermesh/NASTRAN, etc.), with minimum two years of ANSYS Workbench experience required (Including experience with SpaceClaim)

  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and teamwork abilities with the capacity to work independently and remotely.

  • Due to the nature of the work, all hires for this position must be U.S. Citizens

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $80,000 to $120,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
