Kalkomey is looking for a Software Engineer to be a vital team player in our fast-paced, agile environment. Your role will be multifaceted, contributing across the development cycle from coding and testing to deploying and monitoring. You will be empowered to collaborate across functions and contribute directly to our customer-first mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Code Creation : Develop scalable and maintainable Ruby on Rails applications, focusing on delivering high-quality features.

• Customer-Centric : Consider user experience in every line of code, staying aligned with our "Customer First" principle.

• Iterative Cycles : Work in small, fast cycles, incorporating user feedback and data into decision-making.

• Collaboration : Engage in daily stand-ups and pair programming sessions, fostering collective code ownership.

• Testing : Write unit tests before the code, ensuring that new features are reliable and maintainable.

• Code Review : Participate in peer code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and improving codebase quality.

• Data-Driven Decision Making : Utilize monitoring tools and logs to inform coding and debugging practices.

• Continuous Learning : Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, fostering a growth mindset.

  Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

• 2+ years experience in Ruby on Rails (required)

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (required)

• Good understanding of database design principles

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)

• Experience or openness to pair programming

• Good communication skills

• Eagerness for cross-functional collaboration
