Advanced Automation Corporation Software Tester and Jr Developer-Fully REMOTE in Rome, New York

Advanced Automation Corporation (AAC) is seeking a Software Tester/Jr Developer who will contribute to the user experience, quality assurance, and documentation of the Distributive Learning (DL) application. This role will work with a development team to perform testing audits on developed interactive multimedia instruction (IMI).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Lead Software Developer.

  • Assists in the day-to-day program operations, as required.

  • Serves as part of collaborative teams to address capability gaps or inefficiencies, as required.

  • Exercises expert communications to build trust and working relationships within AAC’s established. communications protocol.

  • Collaborates with the Development Team and aids in the testing of all Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI). Specifically:

  • Supports both Software Developers with testing and documenting activities for the SCO framework.

  • Supports Software Developer I with the testing and development of SCSS.

  • Collaborates with the Software Developer I for testing the responsive design of all activities and components.

  • Collaborates with the Software Developer I for testing the cross-browser design of all activities and components.

  • Aids in testing components for accessibility.

  • Conducts self QA on their testing documentation prior to submitting for review.

  • Supports Software Developers in mid-level QA prior to submission for Final QA.

  • Supports effort to export data and assets from the content management system.

  • Supports delivery and testing of the product on the LMS.

  • Work collaboratively with team members of all levels to meet client expectations and produce high quality deliverables.

  • Ensure timeliness while working on tasks throughout an agile product lifecycle.

  • Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

  • 3 + years of experience developing successful SCORM® 2004 3rd Edition scoring distributed learning (DL).

  • 1 + years of experience developing successful digital Learning and user experience systems for interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) computer managed instruction, mobile learning, serious gaming, and simulations.

  • Sound knowledge of graphic and interactive design principles.

  • Exposure to and basic knowledge of Section 508 compliance.

  • Demonstrates the ability to monitor and contribute to agile production sprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with testing JavaScript front-end systems (React and Redux are preferred).

  • Proven experience with testing SCSS design systems centered around a front-end framework (Bootstrap is preferred).

  • Proven experience working with package managers such as NPM
