ICF Immigration Resources Specialist | Remote in San Antonio, Texas

Description

The Immigration Resource Specialist will be responsible for supporting the organizational strategy for collecting, organizing, vetting and maintaining information on community resources for immigrating children nationwide in the areas of education, housing, juvenile justice, medical care, mental health and other important services. The Specialist provides support for this strategy through data gathering, creating relationships with community service agencies, and supporting staff directly in identifying and making appropriate referrals to community service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, organize, validate and maintain information in a national community resource directory.

  • Develop new community resources using various research and collection methods including the internet, survey forms, and/or direct contact with service agency representatives.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with federal agencies, national, regional, and local resource networks and service providers that work with immigrating children and families.

  • Perform follow-ups on new community and social service agencies and enter selected information about them and their activities into subject categories according to defined standards.

  • Serve as a front-line contact with the public and service agencies.

  • Keep statistical records of all agencies updated in database.

  • Create, enter, or update all resources currently in the database.

  • Assist in the development and occasional revision of internal database standards or guidelines and ensures that data is managed accordingly.

  • When needed will support the Call Center by answering calls, text and chats requests following established protocols and documentation requirements.

  • Assist call specialists and other staff in identifying and making appropriate referrals to community service providers.

  • Recognize the need for crisis intervention and elevate a call for further assistance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology or related field of study.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with immigrant populations, child welfare, or other human or community service system.

  • Tier 2 Public Trust Clearance with HHS within past 2 years.

  • Experience working in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Project) and MS SharePoint.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with unaccompanied children or refugee minors.

  • Experience with Office of Refugee Resettlement, the Unaccompanied Children Program and its provider network.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$52,488.00 - $89,230.00
