Job responsibilities

• As a member of the team you will collaborate with Product closely to understand/influence the requirements and design, implement features which meet our customer requirements.

• Be part of full stack team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems

• Applied knowledge of Object oriented programming, microservices and developing applications which confirm to application domains

• Write automated component and integration tests

• Demonstrate You Build You Own mindset. You will display a strong sense of ownership, pushing for best practices and operational excellence and share the knowledge back with the teams.

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

• Produce resilient code & designs that meets parameters for system availability, reliability, flexibility, scalability, usability, security

• Excellent communication skills to present design/implementation choices to architecture, product and leadership

• Be fungible in a full stack team and own all aspects of delivering business applications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working in agile environment

• 3+ years of experience with programming languages like Java, Python, SQL.

• 2+ years of experience developing Cloud Native applications

• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service

• 3+ years of experience with RDBMS, and an understanding of NoSQL

• Experience with container orchestration like Docker or Kubernetes

• Hands On experience with a wide variety of AWS services (CloudFront, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDb, Kinesis, Lambda, Route53, VPC)

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and demonstrated experience of implementing them at scale for large scale applications

• Strong understanding of secure application development practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $140,000 - $159,800 for Senior Software Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
