Job Description

Perform, research, define technical roadmaps, develop and validate future Battery Electric Vehicle high voltage Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems (RESS or battery pack) structures including packaging and protection of battery packs (battery cover, tray, rails, Battery Disconnect Unit, modules, and cells) and interface compatibility with chassis, BIW and underbody structures. Develop, validate, and evaluate new RESS designs, technologies, and requirements from clean sheet of paper up to innovation of mature concepts of RESS structures utilizing steel and aluminum alloys and composite materials, and to meet N&V, durability, reliability, and fatigue standards and requirements. Perform fillet radius change, section change, pattern, and control block morphing, using MeshWorks tool, to battery packs structures. Perform FEA, using Abaqus, OptiSruct, Isight, HyperWorks, ANSA, MeshWorks, SimSolid, nCode DesignLife, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and VCollab tools, to determine and predict RESS structures stress and strains from vehicle and driveway twist, lift point, and housing load in various locations within battery pack

Additional Job Description

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer, Lead, Consultant, Analyst, or related role. Must also have experience with: performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using Abaqus, MeshWorks, and nCode DesignLife tools, to determine and predict battery pack or engine structures stress, strains.
