The Senior OT Systems Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for overseeing the development of Operational Technology (OT) systems and networks for Cytiva’s family of bioprocess products, including Flexfactory, Bioreactors, and Chromatography systems. You will be working with cross-functional project teams in the development, implementation, and maintenance and be an enabling force to meet the needs of internal customers, which includes new product design support/design transfer, manufacturing sites, and other users who need R&D and development infrastructure capabilities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Architecture design: Oversee the design of OT systems, ensuring they meet customer needs from a system administration, networking, and security perspective.

  • Security Management: Collaborate with our internal cybersecurity team to implement robust security measures aligned with industry standards.

  • Architecture deployment: Work with manufacturing teams to standardize deployment processes and explore automation opportunities.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Engage with a variety of teams, from product development to manufacturing, to drive successful project outcomes.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field to provide a strong foundation in networking principles and technologies.

  • 7+ years of experience in network administration and system administration, preferably in industrial or R&D environments.

  • Proficiency in hypervisors, operating systems, domain controllers, and group policies

  • Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network equipment (Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, etc.) and network performance monitoring tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • A master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Advanced Networking: Demonstrate proficiency in advanced networking concepts beyond CCNA, such as CCNP or AWS networking, to handle complex network architectures and cloud-based environments.

  • Industrial Cybersecurity: Hold an industry-recognized certification like GICSP or CISSP to showcase expertise in safeguarding industrial control systems.

  • Routing Protocols: Be well-versed in routing protocols.

  • Layer 2/3 Switching: Have a strong understanding of Layer 2/3 switching concepts and technologies.

  • Network Design: Possess skills in designing and implementing LAN and WAN networks.

  • Cybersecurity: Have a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience in providing technical support to protect networks from threats

  • Project Management and Agile Framework: Skills in project development and execution, which are essential for managing network-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
